...sushi and a movie...

As mentioned here, we had a rough week and were VERY ready for a fun and relaxing weekend. Last night we enjoyed a much needed date night at Blue Wasabi for some sushi and drinks. If you love sushi, it's definitely a place to try, especially during one of their happy hours where select items are half off. After dinner we headed home for a movie in. We watched The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, one that I have been wanting to see for awhile as I just couldn't get through the book when it was a chosen pick for book club. If you can get through some of the graphic parts and the subtitles, this movie is worth watching. We both thought it was a great mystery. Now I look back wishing I forced myself to read the book. All in all our Friday night was just what we needed.

...relaxing weekend for two...

This past weekend was absolutely perfect, with no plans on the agenda it was truly what we both needed, mellow and relaxing. Friday night we spent a much needed night at home cuddled up with a movie. Our movie pick was Eclipse, not one I would necessarily recommend renting, but entertaining nonetheless. If your a Twilight fan, for this one, the book is better than the movie.

Saturday we started with our routine weekend breakfast at La Grande Orange. Afterwards we did a few things around the house, and then Mikis decided he wanted to check out a few houses. This was a BIG mistake, because now all he talks about is wanting to move, again!

We finished up Saturday with a much overdue date night at Postino, which was as always, delicious!

Sunday started with a fun girl's cookie exchange which you can read about here and ended with gift wrapping, pizza and surprise roses from the hubby.

...the day it all started...

Six years ago today is when our story first began, the day Rachel+Mikis started, and the day our lives began to intertwine. Although moving forward we will begin celebrating a new date (our wedding date 3.21.10), October 2nd will be a special day in our lives forever. This was the day we had our first date. We remember it like it was yesterday, our first romantic date at Grazie Pizzeria (if you haven't been there, it's a perfect first date place), sharing the Sofia and a bottle of wine. Couldn't have asked for a better way to fall in love.

The past six years have proved to be some of the best days of our lives and we couldn't imagine spending them with anyone else by our side than each other. As we grow together, and as we continue to age, there is one thing that will never change, our love for each other. Here's to many more incredible years. ...restaurant week...

Restaurant week, how we love thee... Arizona Restaurant Week reconvened this week, and we couldn't be more excited. It's a fabulous week long "event" where guests are able to partake in 150 participating Arizona restaurants finest fare at a special discounted price. Each restaurant offers a three-course dinner menu with signature dishes you can select for $19, $29 or $39 a person. Great deal right? We wouldn't call ourselves foodies by any means, but we definitely enjoy great food, drinks, and of course ambiance. This week long event is something we look forward to every year and if you haven't participated in this annual event, put it on your to-do list for next year.

This year we tried two restaurants, Modern Steak with the fam and Noca to celebrate our 6 month wedding anniversary. Both restaurants didn't disappoint, leaving us with our bellies full and satisfied and a great night behind us.
